Our Kendra Low Profile Console has arrived today, and we are super excited to start using it!  My first impression was that this was a quality piece of furniture just based on how heavy it was to move.  It seems very sturdy and built to last.  Because it is set in a low position, this piece is an excellent example of small living room furniture.  However, it is long enough that it could be used in a larger room & still look appropriately proportioned.

After removing our old console, we placed our new Envision console in the front of the room.  The elegance of the dark finish has already added a lot to the room.  Our old console had more of a dated look due to the finish and style, but the Kendra console is completely modern.

Since we still have some CDs left to store, I set my adjustable dividers to the two outer most positions.  This will allow for 2 separate storage compartments that can store up to 28 standard CD cases & the third compartment can store up to 22.  I have a few non-standard cardboard holders from special releases & some skinny cases, so I can get a few more in each area for additional storage.

Using the middle divider on the second drawer, I can also store up to 20 DVDs in the first compartment.  Although we already have plenty of storage in our media closet, we can keep frequently watched movies right next to the TV with this set up.  There is also enough wiggle room to allow for slightly taller DVD cases, or you could adjust the unit further to store larger VHS packages.

The front area of the console is perfect for a variety of media devices such as gaming consoles, DVD players, VCRs, or a Blu-Ray player.  Although we just have an X-box at the moment, I have had my eye on a Wii.  With the extra storage available, I will be able to put all the controllers underneath each gaming console.  If you truly are a video game nut like Peter, you could also take a look at the new line of Hooker Furniture gaming furniture to make sure you have places for all your different systems.  Now I just need to set up Rockband!
