Picking a Sectional for a Small Living Room

Creating a comfortable and inviting seating area for our TV room is our next focus now that we have unpacked our multitude of video tapes, DVDs, games, and CDs.  Since this room is technically a guest bedroom, we need to look for small living room furniture to fit in our space accordingly.  However, we still need enough seating for when we want to relax and lounge in the room ourselves.

We decided that a sectional would be the best way to go—this would offer more seating than a traditional sofa, and a wider variety of lounging positions to choose from.  If you are working with a limited space, you can pick out a modular sectional from Sam Moore, available in hundreds of custom fabric options.  Bradington-Young  offers a line of leather sectionals.   The beauty of sectionals is that each seat is separate and can be added or taken away as space allows.  You can also change the footprint of the sectional, or mix and match colors to play off your décor accents.

We chose to get the Woolly Girl Reversible Sectional from Carolina Girl Furniture.  This sectional features an ottoman with a cushion on top that can be used to change the side of the sectional based on your needs.  If we move or need to put the sofa in another room, we can simply change the lounging section to the other side.  Peter & I try to be environmentally conscious, so we were super excited to discover that our sofa is made with soy-based foam and eco-friendly fabric.

Setting up our Kendra console will be our next step in completing the look for our new TV room.  This console matches our style & will look fabulous next to our new sofa.

The pillows came with the sofa, and they were actually a factor in selecting this particular model. I thought the accents would play off the yellow in the room.

Sure will.
