What to do with an extra room?

Our new house has four bedrooms in total with the master bedroom and 2 smaller bedrooms all upstairs. A fourth bedroom is designated downstairs tucked out of the way behind the office. Deciding that I would prefer to have guests upstairs, there is now the decision to be made of what to do with an extra room.
Considering our hobbies and habits, there were several options to choose from: a home theater room with a big screen TV and leather seating; a gaming room with game storage & large gaming table; a library with built in book shelves; crafting room with 2 tables & a sewing machine; or additional home office space.
We decided to go with a combination TV room and game storage for several reasons. Because I have a horrible TV addiction, it is best to keep the TV in a room out of the way where I can just shut the door and stay away. Keeping a TV in the living room would be too tempting for me! Although the room could possibly fit a gaming table, it would be a tight squeeze. It would be best to use the large closet for game storage and play on our larger dining room table.
The room will function as a secondary living room with added storage for all our games. However, since it is smaller than a normal living room, we will have to find small living room furniture appropriate for the dimensions of the room. Our old TV console is a little beat up and rather tall & large, so a new TV console and an extra sofa will be our first priority for furnishing this space. Laura Redd will assist us in picking out a closet organization system to fit all our games comfortably in one space.
