Hooker Furniture’s Envision Bedroom Wins Pinnacle Award
Martinsville, Va., October 28, 2009 – The Kemperton bedroom in the Envision Lifestyle collections by Hooker Furniture (NASDAQ-GS: HOFT) was awarded the 2009 Pinnacle Design Achievement Award in the bedroom category at the High Point international furniture market.
"Kemperton suits the way people live and relax in their master bedroom today,” commented the Pinnacle judges in bestowing the recognition on the casual transitional-styled bedroom group, designed for Hooker Furniture by Mark Tucker. The judges added, “(Kemperton) features multiple storage options including home entertainment and a fresh interpretation of the sleigh bed.”
Considered the highest design award in the furniture industry, the Pinnacle was created in 1995 by the American Society of Furniture Designers to promote design quality and recognize furniture designers within the retail home furnishings industry.
In updated classic styling with a casual transitional flavor that embodies a simple elegance, the 15-piece Kemperton bedroom is offered in a dark tobacco and medium chestnut finish and includes electronics-friendly pieces such as a computer leg desk and an entertainment chest.
“We are gratified by the recognition of Kemperton, which serves as an affirmation that we are accomplishing our objective with the Envision collections by Hooker Furniture of creating fresh, casual designs that address the way people want to live today,” said Bruce Cohenour, executive vice president of marketing for Hooker.
